Bio

Birk Sebastian Kotkas holds a degree in journalism from DMJX and Carleton University. Together with photographer Marie Ravn and Østerland, he traveled to Afghanistan in January 2025 with support from Danida to meet and portray female artisans.
Layal Freije is a Middle East correspondent and has covered the region for a range of media outlets, including Weekendavisen, based in Istanbul. Today, she writes about the region for Information.
